Sir Edmund Hillary and his companions were the first climbers to reach the top of Everest. This is an enthralling exploration of one man's undeniable stamp on history and the future of Nepal.

A group of mountaineering legends have come together in the village of Khumjung, high in the Himalayas, to honour the legacy of Sir Edmund Hillary - a man who devoted much of his life to helping others through his Himalayan Trust. Many regard the Trust to be his greatest achievement: "it was like a calling", his son Peter says."I just think he got good heart", Dawa, an ex-student of the Khumjung school says. From schools to hospitals to providing fresh water, Hillary's contribution to this area knew no bounds. "I think he just said, this is the thing that I should do. So he did it", Dawa says gratefully and proudly. His son Peter and his stepmother, Lady June ,the custodian of Sir Hillary's Trust, differ in their views of best retaining Hillary's legacy. As his supporters try to protect the trust from the growing rift, this beautiful report offers a moving testament to a giant of a man.
